About L'ostellino

If you’re wandering through Pisa and want a place that instantly feels local, welcoming, and full of character, let me introduce you to L'ostellino, a small but lively restaurant tucked right into Piazza Felice Cavallotti, 1, 56126 Pisa PI, Italy. This spot has the kind of energy that pulls you in without trying too hard, blending the charm of a neighborhood hangout with the buzz of a place everyone seems to know about. I love how it works for so many moods, whether you’re popping in for a quick bite between sightseeing stops or settling in for a relaxed dine-in experience with friends. The service options are flexible and practical, too, offering on-site services, takeaway, and even delivery, which makes it easy to enjoy their food no matter how packed your day looks. When it comes to the menu, variety is a real strength here, and it’s designed to keep things simple while still feeling thoughtful and fresh. You’ll find small plates that are perfect for sharing, vegetarian options that don’t feel like an afterthought, and healthy or organic dishes for anyone who likes to eat well without sacrificing flavor or satisfaction. At the same time, it’s just as easy to keep things casual with a quick bite and a cold beer after a long walk through the city. Speaking of drinks, the selection covers all the bases, from coffee if you’re stopping by earlier in the day to wine and alcohol for those long, chatty evenings that seem to happen naturally in Pisa. What really stands out to me is how L'ostellino manages to feel effortless, a place where locals and visitors mix easily, conversations flow, and good food becomes part of the everyday rhythm rather than a special occasion, creating an atmosphere that feels genuine, social, and easy to come back to again and again.

Incredible sandwiches, fantastic service! We had the Speciale 13s, Speciale 10 and vegan sandwiches and they were all packed full of flavour, served promptly, and with a glass of Prosecco it was made even better! Will be back next time we are in Pisa!

Really loved this small sandwich place. The service was really good, the preparation of the sandwiches fast and the staff nice and helpful. We asked for 107 with figgs, that we saw a recommendation online for, and special 8. Both were insanely good. Recomend 100%

Beautiful sandwiches made with love & qualitative ingredients. I had the 107 (with figs) and it was delish with a true balance of flavors and very tasty ingredients! The rest of the menu seems so great as well, I felt sad I couldn't try everything! Prices are really decent for the quality! I didn't wait at all because I went after lunch peak. But I can tell it is a busy place since the day after I passed by during lunch time and there was definitely a big queue! The owner is really kind and seems passionated. The inside of the shop is greatly decorated in a very homely, friendly and authentic atmosphere. I had a great time and feels like I stumbled upon a hidden gem. Thoses places where food is truly an art! (Even if it's 'just' sandwiches)

Absolutely delicious sandwiches. We came to check it out after a blogger raved about it, and it didn’t disappoint. I had the Novita, which was incredible (I’m a sucker for truffle) and my girlfriend had the 107, which was a great mix of savory and sweet! We also tried the Speciale 9, which was also very very good (I just got too excited and ordered too much in one shot) The staff was extremely friendly, the food was extremely fresh, the prices were cheap, and I’d 100% recommend this place to anyone in the area instead of any of the other tourist traps

What these people make here are not sandwiches, this is pure ART! I've never had a sandwich that tastes so, so good. The ingredients are top and the service is awesome. I was so impressed that they offer some discounts for students, which is awesome and proofs that the business is not just about making money, but also offering something back to the community. Well done!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Hidden Gem of Pisa! l’Ostellino If you’re visiting Pisa and don’t stop at l’Ostellino, you’re seriously missing out. This place is an absolute treasure tucked away just a short walk from the Leaning Tower and it truly earns the title of Pisa’s hidden gem. From the moment you step inside, you’re hit with the smell of freshly baked bread, cured meats, and cheeses that instantly tell you you’re in the right place. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do. They’ll happily guide you through their incredible menu of panini and platters, and every recommendation they give is spot-on. The portions? Massive. The quality? Outstanding. The ingredients taste authentic, fresh, and straight from the source the kind of flavours you remember long after you’ve left Italy. My panini was packed with so much flavour I genuinely didn’t want it to end. What makes l’Ostellino extra special is that it doesn’t feel like a tourist trap at all. It feels local, authentic, and full of heart. Great prices, incredible food, and that warm Italian charm that makes you instantly feel at home. Whether you’re in Pisa for an hour or a weekend, put this at the top of your list. l’Ostellino is hands-down the best bite in Pisa. A must-visit. ????????

Food was great! They had a bunch of options and the guy said that you can customize all sandwiches! The sandwiches are quite large I could only manage half and my bf ended up finishing mine off and I would recommend ordering two different sandwiches like we did and getting them to cut in half so you can switch with each other!! (Have to ask while ordering for it to be cut) The staff were nice and playful overall great atmosphere. We went and saw the leaning tower of Pisa and looked for food around its like a 5 minute or so walk from there but worth it.
